Your Winter Arc
How are you spending the last 90 days of the year?
Real Talk…
In an online world full of highlight reels, let’s get real and dive into the authentic, unfiltered realities of entrepreneurship and being a founder. Here are some behind-the-scenes musings and reflections from my past week… ⬇️
We’re officially in spooky season and just under 90 days until the end of the year… 😶
Can you believe how fast this year has flown by?
If you’re on TikTok or social media, you’ve probably seen all the “winter arc” posts — which suggest using the last 90 days of the year to refocus, regroup, and get a head start on your “New Year’s resolutions.” It’s an opportunity to realign and set yourself up for success in the coming year.
Personally, I’m not a fan of New Year’s resolutions. I’ve set so many over the years, only to inevitably fall off a few weeks later. It’s just not a sustainable approach for me. Instead, I’ve created my own goal-setting process:
1. Reflection
I start by thinking through how things have been going. This could mean reflecting on the year, the past quarter, or even the last month — whatever time frame makes the most sense. I assess different areas like my career, finances, personal development, relationships (partner, family, friends, etc.), health, fitness, self-care, and spirituality.
2. Intention
Based on how things are going in each area, I ask myself:
What do I want to maintain?
What do I want to change?
What do I need to prioritize?
From there, I set 2-3 key priorities. For example:
Am I heading into a season where I want to focus on my career?
Is it time to reconnect with loved ones?
Do I need to prioritize myself — my mental and physical health, and personal growth?
3. Action
Next, I create an action plan. I write down all the steps I need to take to bring my intentions to life. Then, I break those steps into quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals or tasks.
I find setting intentions and priorities more helpful than traditional resolutions. Resolutions often feel so rigid, like “I’m going to work out 5 times a week,” and when I inevitably miss a week, I give up entirely and end up feeling defeated (and maybe eating a few too many chips, haha). But if I intend to live a healthier life, I can adapt based on my capacity and what feels right for that week. It’s much more sustainable for me.
So, if you want to jump on the “winter arc” trend, let’s do it together!
If you need help with reflection, intention-setting, and action planning, check out my “Coming Home to Yourself” retreat package. I created it for my 30th birthday with my friends, but I’ll be redoing it myself to prepare for the new year.
P.S. If you’d like me to dive deeper into this topic, I’d be happy to film a YouTube video on it towards the end of the year!

Real Self-Care…
Sustainable success can only happen if you take care of yourself. Self-care is not selfish — it’s necessary. Here are some self-care tools to recharge and stay balanced this week... ⬇️
Self-Care Challenge: It’s easy to go into hibernation mode with the change of weather and seasons, but I’m challenging you to go do something fun with your loved ones or friends! Right after I hit “send” on this email, I’m commuting out to Wembley (it’s super far and the only reason I know about it is because Taylor Swift played at the Wembley Stadium in London lolll) to go to a fun bubble planet exhibit with some friends.
Take an IG story completing this self-care challenge and tag me @selinajho to keep each other accountable!
Journal Prompt: What are my intentions for the last 90 days of the year? How do I want to feel? How do I want to spend it?
Something to Ponder: “People who are constantly busy are running from themselves… being ‘busy’ is not a virtue, it only signals to others that you do not know how to manage your time or your tasks” — Brianna Wiest.
I recently re-read The Mountain is You (for the 1231245th time lol) because I’ve noticed some self-sabotaging behaviours creep up. I used to pride myself on being “busy” — and like Brianna says in the book, we think being busy makes us seem important or gives us this “untouchable” vibe but in reality, it comes across like you don’t know how to prioritize our manage your time. Sooo something to ponder if you’re also “busy” 🤍
